Details

We complete a comprehensive evaluation of the fit and finishings of the home, following areas according to the Construction Performance Guide for New Home Warranty, including:

  • Exterior

    Siding, flashing, trim, doors, decks, porches & steps, flatwork, walkways, grading and water management

  • Foundation & Basement

    Foundation, parging, telepost, floor structure, walls, ceiling and vapor barrier

  • Plumbing

    Testing for leaks and performance of the bathroom and kitchen fixtures, exterior spigots, basement floor drain and sump pump

  • Fireplace

    Operating condition and wall switch

  • Windows & Doors

    Function of each door, window and locking mechanism

  • Built-in Appliances

    Testing for power or operation of all appliances including dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, garbage disposal, exhaust van, microwave, washer & dryer

  • Roofing

    Drainage system, flashing, skylights and roof penetrations – completed from an observable area when possible

  • Heating & Cooling

    Testing thermostat, ventilation in each room, furnace and AC operations, humidifier, HRV unit

  • Electrical

    Testing GFCI, Smoke/CO detectors, light fixtures, receptables and switches

  • Attic

    At the attic hatch observing insulation, ventilation, hatch seal, exhaust systems

  • Interior

    Evaluating trim, drywall, paint, cabinets, countertops, flooring, ceiling

  • Garage

    Testing function of door & safety equipment, including door man door to the home
